Architect Barbara Campagna actively pursuing Sustainability at Historic Sites
Barbara Campagna, AIA, LEED AP, Graham Gund Architect at the National Trust for Historic Preservation, has plunged deep in the conversations on sustainability and historic sites. This is a major initiative at NTHP and the Historic Sites department is fortunate it can support this effort with someone so thoughtful and passionate. If you’ve been to any conference or meeting on sustainability and historic preservation lately, no doubt you’ll have encountered her:
- In February at the Colorado Preservation Annual Statewide Conference (Denver, Colorado) and the Historic Boulder Annual Meeting (Boulder, Colorado).
- In March at the NC SHPO Square Table (Washington, DC), DC SHPO & Planning Office (Washington, DC), and Traditional Building Conference (Boston, Mass.)
- In April at the New Pathways: Sustainability & Historic Preservation symposium (Seattle, Wash.), Utah Heritage Foundation Annual Conference (Salt Lake City, Utah), Making Choices (New Canaan, Conn.), and the Green Building-Historic Preservation Symposium (Washington, DC)
- In May at the Green Life (Lyndhurst, NY) and the Preservation Maryland Conference (Hagerstown, Maryland)
- In June at a Symposium for the Northeast region of GSA (New York City, NY), New Jersey Historic Preservation Conference (New Brunswick, N.J.), and Preserving the Modern in a Green World at the National Building Museum (Washington, DC)
- In July at the AIA Design-DC Annual Conference (Washington, DC) and at the Maryland Historical Trust Board Meeting
